We are seeking a dedicated Autism & SEN Classroom Assistant to join a school in St Leonards, providing targeted support to pupils with additional learning needs.

About the Role
As an Autism & SEN Classroom Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with autism and other additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and engage fully in classroom activities. Your work will contribute directly to pupils’ learning, personal development, and overall school experience.
Responsibilities

Support pupils with autism and additional learning needs on a one-to-one or small group basis

Assist with lesson delivery and adapt activities to meet individual needs

Implement behaviour management strategies and support positive social interactions

Provide personal care support where required

Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff

Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to deliver individual learning plans
Qualifications & Skills

Experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly autism

Knowledge of behaviour management and inclusion strategies

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to adapt resources and support to meet diverse learning needs

Patience, empathy, and a professional approach to supporting pupils
