Learning Support Assistants
Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £90 - £110
per day

Contract Type: Full-Time/Part-Time

GSL Education are seeking caring and committed Learning Support Assistants to support students aged 4–16 years at our Client Secondary School in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, starting as soon as possible.

Learning Support Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of additional needs.
  • Assist in the delivery of personalised learning plans.
  • Provide emotional and social support to students, helping them to build confidence and resilience in a higher education setting. 
  • Assist in delivering tailored interventions and classroom activities.
  • Support students’ personal care needs when required, ensuring their comfort and dignity.

Learning Support Assistant Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in Education, Teaching and Learning, Psychology, Social work, or a related field is essential.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN or additional needs.
  • A solid understanding of various SEN conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
  • Be compassionate, caring, and have a genuine desire to help overcome students’ barriers.
  • Hold a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
