Salary: £185 - £265 per day
Start Date: After Half Term

Exciting Opportunity for a Humanities Teacher (History Specialist) in Newham!

GSL Education London Branch are looking for a passionate and inspiring Humanities Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive coeducational secondary school in Newham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a History Teacher who is eager to make a real difference in students’ lives by bringing history to life in the classroom.

The successful Humanities teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will work within a supportive department that values creativity, critical thinking, and student progress.

History Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality History lessons in line with the national curriculum.

  • Inspire and motivate students to develop a love for History and Humanities subjects.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning for all students.

  • Assess, record, and report on student progress and achievement.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and develop engaging resources.

  • Participate in school events, parent meetings, and departmental activities.

History Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Experience teaching History at KS3 and KS4 in a UK secondary school.

  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for History and the wider Humanities curriculum.

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

  • A commitment to continuous professional development and teamwork.

  • A proactive approach to supporting the school’s ethos and values.
