About the Role
We are seeking a committed 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to work directly with pupils who require additional support. The role involves providing personalised, hands-on assistance to ensure pupils can access learning, participate fully in lessons, and develop both academically and socially. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a real difference to children’s learning and well-being.
Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 support to pupils with additional learning needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, or behavioural difficulties.

Assist teachers in delivering differentiated lessons to meet individual learning goals.

Support pupils with personal care and physical needs as required, maintaining dignity and respect.

Implement positive behaviour strategies to encourage engagement and self-regulation.

Promote pupils’ independence, confidence, and social development in classroom and outdoor learning activities.

Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure consistent support across the school day.

Maintain accurate records and contribute to pupil support plans and progress monitoring.
Qualifications and Experience

Experience supporting pupils with special educational needs is highly desirable.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with patience and empathy.

Knowledge of safeguarding, behaviour management, and inclusive education strategies.

Relevant qualifications, such as CACHE Level 2/3, Health and Social Care, or Education Support, are advantageous.

Must have the right to work in the UK and hold, or be willing to apply for, an Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service.
