Job Title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: West Worthing
Pay Rate: £85 – £95 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in West Worthing. This rewarding role offers the chance to make a genuine difference by providing tailored support to a pupil who requires additional assistance in their learning and development.

As a 1:1 SEN TA, you will provide dedicated support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs, helping them access learning and reach their full potential.

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide dedicated one-to-one support to a pupil with specific learning or behavioural needs.
  • Assist in implementing individual education and behaviour plans under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence through personalised support.
  • Foster a calm, structured, and nurturing environment that promotes emotional and academic progress.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent and holistic support.
  • Help manage classroom activities and maintain positive behaviour.

Requirements for 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly in a one-to-one capacity (preferred).
  • A caring, patient, and resilient nature with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
