Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)

Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing and inclusive school in Dinnington. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils, helping them to achieve both personal and academic growth.

As an SEMH TA, you will support classroom teachers by delivering tailored lessons, providing one-to-one or small group support, helping create a safe and nurturing learning environment.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support the teacher in delivering engaging, personalised lessons for pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment that promotes emotional wellbeing and confidence.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to implement individual learning and behaviour plans.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, encouraging motivation, resilience, and positive behaviour.
  • Assist in monitoring pupil progress and adapting support to meet individual needs.
  • Promote an inclusive and respectful classroom culture.

Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience working with pupils with SEMH or additional learning needs is highly desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to supporting challenging behaviour.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for helping young learners succeed.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
