Secondary Learning Support Assistant – Stockport

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a thriving and well-regarded secondary school from October 2025. This long-term opportunity is ideal for individuals passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of young people, particularly those with additional needs.
You will work across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting students both academically and emotionally to help them reach their full potential. The school offers a welcoming environment, excellent facilities, and a strong focus on student wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to students, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt lessons and learning materials
- Support literacy, numeracy, and emotional wellbeing interventions
- Build strong relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and independence
- Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
- Track student progress and behaviour, reporting concerns when needed
Requirements:
- Experience working with secondary-aged students, ideally in an education or support setting
- A good understanding of SEN and how to implement support strategies
- Strong communication, patience, and behaviour management skills
- A calm, empathetic, and proactive attitude
- A genuine passion for helping young people succeed
- A fully enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
- A CV covering the last 10 years with satisfactory references and no unexplained gaps
