A well-regarded primary school in Maldon is looking for a caring, proactive, and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Starting immediately, this full-time position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference in a child’s educational journey. You’ll work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support strategies that help the pupil develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN, adapting learning materials and approaches to meet their individual needs.

  • Encourage confidence, engagement, and independence in learning.

  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour management.

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

  • Track and report on pupil progress, working collaboratively with staff and parents.

  • Promote a safe, supportive, and encouraging classroom atmosphere.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children with SEN (Autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs desirable).

  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable nature.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • The ability to stay calm under pressure and think creatively when supporting learning.

  • A genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential.
