A well-regarded primary school in Loughton is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

This is a full-time position starting immediately, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact on a child’s learning journey. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised support, helping the child to engage, progress, and thrive both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN, adapting activities to meet individual needs.

  • Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence in learning.

  • Implement behaviour and learning strategies under the guidance of the SENCO and class teacher.

  • Support social and emotional development, promoting positive interactions with peers.

  • Monitor and record progress, sharing feedback with teaching staff and parents.

  • Contribute to creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children with SEN (Autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs desirable).

  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.
