Exciting Teaching Assistant Opportunities - Southsea | Monday to Friday | £13.80 to £15 per hour

These Teaching Assistant roles are full-time with the potential to become permanent for the right individuals with prior school experience. No problem! If you have the right attitude and transferable skills, we offer in-house TA training at our schools to prepare you for the role.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support children with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health challenges.

What You'll Be Doing as a Teaching Assistant:

  • Supporting students in one-to-one and small group settings
  • Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities
  • Helping maintain a supportive, inclusive learning environment
  • Supervising students during outings and off-site activities
  • Simplifying instructions and providing personalised guidance to help students stay engaged

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with special needs (in education, care, or community settings)
  • A good understanding of Autism Spectrum Conditions and SEN best practices
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Adaptability, patience, and a calm, nurturing approach
  • Previous experience working in a similar setting is an advantage.

To work with GSL Education as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you should: 

  • Have the right to work in the UK. 
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. 
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
