SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield (S11)
Salary: £95 – £120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to join schools across Sheffield.
About the Role:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA), you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support for pupils with SEMH needs. You will help create a positive and nurturing environment that promotes learning, independence, and personal development.
SEMH Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with SEMH needs both in the classroom and in small group interventions.
- Assist the class teacher with preparing and delivering lessons that engage and motivate pupils.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
- Foster strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
SEMH TA Requirements:
- Experience working with children in an educational or SEMH setting.
- CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare, Teaching Assistance, or equivalent qualifications preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of SEMH needs and behaviour management strategies.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
