Job Title: SEMH Teacher
Location: Rotherham (S60)
Pay Rate: £150 – £250 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

Are you a compassionate and dedicated SEMH Teacher committed to supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs to succeed academically and personally?

GSL Education are currently seeking an experienced SEMH Teacher to join a supportive school in Rotherham (S60). This role provides the opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching, personalised support, and interventions tailored to pupils’ social, emotional, and mental health needs.


As an SEMH Teacher, you will:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development through targeted interventions.
  • Develop and implement individual support plans in collaboration with colleagues and SENCOs.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies as required.
  • Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and wellbeing within the classroom.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

Requirements for SEMH Teacher:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Proven experience teaching pupils with SEMH needs in primary or secondary settings.
  • Strong knowledge of SEMH frameworks, strategies, and behaviour management techniques.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
