Teacher of Maths – mainstream secondary – Southampton, Hampshire
Start Date: Immediate / January 2026 | Contract Type: Full-Time
Salary: £30,000 – £50,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are looking for a Teacher of Maths to join a supportive mainstream secondary school in Southampton. This is a full-time position, available for an immediate start or from January 2026.

As a Teacher of Maths, you will deliver engaging lessons that develop students’ confidence, numeracy, and problem-solving skills. Whether you are an experienced teacher or at the beginning of your teaching career, this role offers an excellent opportunity to grow and thrive in a dynamic school environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach Mathematics across the secondary Key Stages in line with the national curriculum
  • Plan and deliver lessons that are creative, challenging, and accessible to all learners
  • Monitor student achievement and provide effective feedback to support progress
  • Encourage a positive learning environment where all students can succeed
  • Differentiate lesson content to cater for a range of abilities
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the department and across the school
  • Contribute to wider school life and ongoing professional development opportunities

Teacher of Maths Skills & Requirements:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), ECTs, or recognised overseas teaching qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of Mathematics and the secondary curriculum
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire young learners
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive approach to teaching and classroom management
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to apply via GSL Education
