Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)

Are you a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs?

GSL Education are seeking a skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Sheffield. This role offers the opportunity to provide targeted support to pupils with special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their potential.

Role Overview:

As an SEN TA, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with a range of additional needs. You will provide 1:1 or small group support, implement learning strategies, and contribute to creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with varying SEN needs, including those with EHCPs.
  • Provide assistance in literacy, numeracy, and other core subjects.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Help pupils develop social, communication, and life skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement learning plans.
  • Observe and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.

Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school environment.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
  • Knowledge of strategies to support children with additional needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting young learners.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
