Do you have the patience, resilience, and positivity to support children with behavioural needs?
We’re looking for a dedicated Behaviour Support Mentor to join a welcoming primary school in Loughton. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who need additional guidance to regulate their emotions, make positive choices, and re-engage with learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural and emotional needs.

  • Implement strategies to encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning.

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to promote confidence and resilience.

  • Support classroom learning, ensuring children can access lessons successfully.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and pastoral staff to develop tailored support plans.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting children with behavioural or SEMH needs (in schools, youth work, or similar settings).

  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations.

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic nature.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow guidance from school staff.

  • A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
