Support Worker – Learning Disabilities and Mental Health

Location: Sutton
Salary: £90 – £110 per day (experience dependent)
Contract: Full-Time | Immediate Start

We are searching for a committed Support Worker – Learning Disabilities and Mental Health to join a specialist SEN school in Sutton. The school supports young people aged 10–19 who face barriers to learning, including autism, complex sensory needs, and mental health challenges.

As a Support Worker – Learning Disabilities and Mental Health, you’ll play a key role in ensuring students feel safe, valued, and supported in both their learning and personal development.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide tailored support to children with a variety of additional needs, encouraging them to reach their full potential.

  • Work alongside teachers and therapists to put learning and care plans into practice.

  • Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing while helping to manage challenging behaviour in a positive way.

  • Encourage independence and social interaction for pupils with multiple complex needs.

  • Act as a consistent role model, providing encouragement and reassurance.

What We’re Looking For

  • Someone with experience as a Support Worker – Learning Disabilities and Mental Health, ideally in schools, residential, or youth settings.

  • A patient and resilient individual who can remain calm under pressure.

  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).

  • Candidates able to provide a full career history and references.

  • Graduates and aspiring Teaching Assistants/Cover Supervisors are also welcome to apply.
