Behavioural Pastoral Officer – Portsmouth
Full Time | Permanent | Immediate Start or After Half Term
GSL Education are seeking a Behavioural Pastoral Officer to join a mainstream secondary school in Portsmouth on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and resilient individual to make a real difference to the lives of young people.
The successful candidate will support students in overcoming barriers to learning, promoting positive behaviour, and ensuring that all pupils have access to a safe and supportive environment. This role will involve working closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to provide targeted pastoral support.
Key Responsibilities:

Support and mentor students who display challenging behaviour.

Develop and implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and engagement.

Work alongside staff to ensure students remain on track with their learning.

Provide a safe space for pupils, offering guidance and emotional support.

Liaise with parents/carers and outside agencies where appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience working with young people with behavioural needs.

Demonstrate patience, resilience, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Be confident in managing challenging situations effectively.

Show commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
