Cover Supervisor – Portsmouth
Full Time | Ad-hoc Basis | Immediate Start | Mainstream Secondary
GSL Education are looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to work within a mainstream secondary school in Portsmouth. This is a full-time role on an ad-hoc basis, with an immediate start available.
The successful candidate will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring that students remain on task with the work that has been set. This role is ideal for individuals who are considering a career in teaching, recent graduates, or those with experience working with young people in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver pre-prepared lessons and supervise students across a range of subjects.

Maintain a positive and productive learning environment.

Implement the school’s behaviour policies and encourage good conduct.

Provide feedback to teachers about student engagement and progress.
The Ideal Candidate Will:

Be confident, resilient, and able to manage classroom behaviour effectively.

Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Be adaptable and able to engage students of varying abilities.

Ideally have previous experience working with young people (not essential, as training will be provided).
