Do you have the passion and patience to support children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs?
We’re looking for a dedicated SEMH Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a nurturing primary school in Loughton. This role is all about providing 1:1 support for a child with additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and thrive in school life.
The school has a fantastic reputation for being inclusive and supportive, with a caring staff team who work hard to make every child feel valued.
What You’ll Be Doing

Supporting a child with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis.

Helping with academic tasks, social skills, and emotional regulation.

Encouraging positive behaviour and resilience.

Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils and staff.

Following tailored support plans set by the class teacher and SENCO.
What We’re Looking For

Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs (school or similar).

A patient, empathetic, and encouraging nature.

Good behaviour management and communication skills.

A proactive, flexible approach to supporting learning.

A genuine commitment to children’s wellbeing and progress.
