Do you have the passion and patience to support children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs?
We’re looking for a dedicated SEMH Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a nurturing primary school in Loughton. This role is all about providing 1:1 support for a child with additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and thrive in school life.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting a child with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis.

  • Helping with academic tasks, social skills, and emotional regulation.

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and resilience.

  • Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils and staff.

  • Following tailored support plans set by the class teacher and SENCO.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs (school or similar).

  • A patient, empathetic, and encouraging nature.

  • Good behaviour management and communication skills.

  • A proactive, flexible approach to supporting learning.

  • A genuine commitment to children’s wellbeing and progress.
