SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Doncaster
Salary: Up to £120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join mainstream primary schools across Doncaster.

About the Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) in a mainstream primary school, you will provide tailored support to pupils with special educational needs across EYFS, KS1, and KS2. You will work closely with the class teacher, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive academically and socially.

Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Support pupils with SEN on a 1:1 basis and within small groups.
  • Assist in delivering engaging lessons adapted to individual needs.
  • Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
  • Foster strong relationships with pupils, teachers, and parents.
  • Contribute to a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.

SEN TA Skills & Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, ideally in a SEN role.
  • CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or equivalent qualification (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
