Job Title: SEN Primary Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Rotherham
Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Primary Teaching Assistant to join schools in Rotherham. This role provides an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners by offering tailored support and helping them achieve their potential.

Role Overview:
As an SEN Primary TA, you will work closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, supporting them both in class and through targeted interventions. You will help foster confidence, independence, and positive learning outcomes.

As an SEN Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
  • Assist teachers in adapting lessons to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage pupils to engage in learning and develop social skills.
  • Support emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
  • Uphold high standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare.

Requirements for SEN Primary Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or specialist setting is desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with children with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to individual learning needs.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
