Flexible Supply Teacher – Secondary School – Portsmouth, Hampshire
Start Date: Immediate | Contract Type: Full-Time, Adhoc basis
Salary: £90 – £140 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are looking for committed Flexible Supply Teachers to support secondary mainstream schools in Portsmouth on a full-time, adhoc basis starting immediately. This role is perfect for qualified teachers seeking adaptable work hours or students eager to gain experience in an educational setting.
As a Flexible Supply Teacher, you will take responsibility for teaching classes in the absence of the usual teacher, ensuring that lessons run smoothly and students remain engaged. You will collaborate with school staff to create a positive learning environment and support pupils’ academic and personal development.
Responsibilities of a Flexible Supply Teacher:
- Deliver planned lessons and supervise classrooms effectively
- Maintain student engagement and focus throughout the day
- Manage behaviour and uphold a positive, safe classroom environment
- Follow lesson plans and school procedures
- Provide feedback on student progress and any behavioural issues
- Support individual and group learning as required
- Foster a respectful and inclusive classroom atmosphere
- Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure continuity of learning
Skills & Requirements:
- Previous experience working in secondary schools or educational settings as a Supply Teacher or similar is desirable
- UK teaching qualifications such as QTS, PGCE or equivalent is desirable but not mandatory.
- Reliable, adaptable, and proactive approach to teaching
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Dedication to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to apply via GSL Education
