Cover Supervisor – Secondary School – Southampton, Hampshire
Start Date: Immediate | Contract Type: Full-Time, Adhoc basis
Salary: £90 – £140 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to join secondary mainstream schools in Southampton on an adhoc, full-time basis starting immediately. This position is ideal for teachers seeking flexible work or students aspiring to build a career in education.
In this role, you will be responsible for supervising classes, supporting learning activities, and ensuring students remain engaged in their lessons. You will work closely with teachers and school staff, providing essential support to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
Cover Supervisor (CS) Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes in the absence of the teacher
- Ensure students remain on task and engaged with learning activities
- Support teaching staff with classroom management
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions
- Assist with maintaining a positive and safe learning environment
- Monitor student behaviour and report concerns to relevant staff
- Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development
- Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times
Requirements for Cover Supervisor:
- Previous experience working with children or in a school setting is desirable
- CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or Childcare
- A degree in Education or a similar field.
- Reliable, adaptable, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare
- Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply via GSL Education
