Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Chesterfield
Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Chesterfield. This is an exciting opportunity to provide 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and thrive academically and personally.
Role Overview:
As an SEMH TA, you will work closely with pupils and teaching staff to deliver tailored support, implement behaviour strategies, and foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with SEMH needs individually and in small groups.
- Implement strategies to encourage positive behaviour, resilience, and engagement.
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering personalised learning activities.
- Promote pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.
- Maintain accurate records and report on pupil progress and behaviour.
- Uphold high standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare.
Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Experience supporting children with SEMH needs in a school or specialist setting.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with challenging behaviours.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must hold a full UK driving licence with business insurance.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
