Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant (TA)

Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Rotherham. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to support pupils’ learning, development, and wellbeing, while working closely with teachers to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Role Overview:
As a Primary TA, you will provide support across the classroom, working with individual pupils and small groups. You will help children develop their literacy, numeracy, and social skills, while ensuring they feel encouraged and engaged in their learning.

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils in their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and interactive lessons.
  • Provide 1:1 or small group interventions to pupils who require additional support.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and participation among pupils.
  • Uphold high standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare.

Requirements for Primary Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with children in a school or similar setting.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
