SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Harrow
Salary: £90 – £120 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Contract: Full-Time

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive specialist school in Harrow. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to build confidence, develop resilience, and thrive in their education.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm, where your empathy, patience, and determination can help transform learning journeys for young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.

  • Work closely with teachers to adapt lessons and resources for individual learners.

  • Encourage positive behaviour, self-regulation, and emotional well-being.

  • Build supportive relationships that inspire trust and motivation.

  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience supporting students with SEMH, SEN, or challenging behaviour (desirable).

  • A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting young people.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection practices.

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
