Cover Supervisor
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £95 - £113 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are looking for passionate and reliable Cover Supervisors (CS) to join schools across Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or those with previous classroom experience who want to inspire young people and support their learning journey.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-prepared lessons to classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring pupils remain engaged and on task. You will support learning, maintain a positive environment, and uphold behaviour standards to ensure effective classroom management. This role allows you to gain insight into different schools and year groups while developing essential skills for a career in education.
Cover Supervisor (CS) Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects and key stages.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Support students with their learning, ensuring they remain focused and engaged.
- Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Adapt quickly to different classroom environments.
- Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Requirements for Cover Supervisor:
- CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or equivalent qualification (desirable but not mandatory).
- Previous experience working with young people as a Cover Supervisor or similar is advantageous.
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- A flexible, confident, and adaptable approach.
- A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
