Inclusion & Independence Coach

Location: Chelmsford

Salary: £90 - £130 per day

Start date: Immediately

 

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people and adults with SEND? Chelmsford Colleges are seeking a dedicated Inclusion & Independence Coach to join our INSPIRE – SEND Support team.

In this rewarding role, you will:

  • Support learners with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities to build independence, communication, decision-making, and life skills both in and out of the classroom.

  • Work closely with students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, offering tailored coaching and guidance to help them meet their EHCP outcomes.

  • Assist with personal care, mobility, and access needs to ensure every learner can fully engage with college life.

  • Guide and advise staff to promote inclusive practice across the college, contributing to training and development initiatives.

  • Maintain accurate records, support tracking and monitoring of student progress, and contribute to administrative processes related to SEND provision.

What we’re looking for:

  • Understanding of how people learn and a genuine desire to support young people and adults.

  • Strong organisational, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge and/or experience of working with learners with SEND and understanding of EHCPs.

  • Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent) and a relevant SEND or coaching qualification (desirable).

  • Experience in a similar role, including personal care and administering medication.

  • Commitment to professional development, safeguarding, and equality and diversity.
