Job Title: Cover Supervisor (CS)

Pay Rate: £95 – £113 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Cover Supervisor to work in a welcoming school in Chesterfield. This role is ideal for those considering a career in teaching or education, as it offers valuable classroom experience while making a positive impact on pupils’ learning.
Role Overview:
As a CS, you will supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring pupils remain on task with their pre-set work. You will help maintain a safe, engaging, and productive learning environment while managing behaviour effectively.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons and supervise pupils in the classroom.
- Ensure students stay engaged and focused on their learning.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Support pupils in understanding tasks and encourage participation.
- Work collaboratively with staff to contribute to the wider school environment.
Requirements for Cover Supervisor:
- Previous experience working with young people (desirable, but not essential).
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- Confidence in supervising a classroom setting.
- A flexible, proactive, and reliable attitude.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
