Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Bentley (DN5)
Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive school setting in Bentley. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by providing guidance, encouragement, and tailored support.

Role Overview:
As an SEMH TA, you will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, supporting their social, emotional, and academic development. You will help implement strategies to manage behaviour, promote wellbeing, and create a safe and inclusive learning environment.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Build strong, positive relationships to encourage confidence and resilience.
  • Support teachers in adapting learning to meet individual needs.
  • Help manage behaviour using positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Promote safeguarding and pupil welfare at all times.

Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural needs (desirable).
  • A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach.
  • Strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
