Job Title: Individual Needs Assistant
Location: Shoreham
Salary: £85– £95 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

A welcoming school in Shoreham is seeking an Individual Needs Assistant to work closely with pupils requiring tailored support. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping children engage fully in their learning and thrive in a positive school environment.
Key Responsibilities of the Individual Needs Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one support for pupils with individual learning or behavioural needs.
- Assist with adapting resources and activities to suit pupils’ abilities and learning styles.
- Encourage participation, independence, and confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
- Support behaviour management strategies in a calm and constructive manner.
- Work in partnership with teachers, SENCO, and parents/carers to monitor progress and share feedback.
Requirements for the Individual Needs Assistant role:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN or additional needs is desirable.
- Understanding of a range of learning difficulties, behavioural needs, or disabilities.
- Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills.
- A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach to supporting pupils.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.
- Hold an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
- Provide a full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment in the last 10 years.
