Job Title: SEN Primary Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Rotherham
Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Primary Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Rotherham. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children by helping them access learning and thrive in the classroom.

Role Overview:
As an SEN Primary TA, you will provide targeted support to pupils with additional learning needs. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will help adapt learning materials, provide 1:1 or small group support, and create a nurturing environment that enables every child to succeed.

As an SEN Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with SEN on a 1:1 basis or within small groups.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering adapted learning activities.
  • Encourage pupils’ participation, confidence, and independence.
  • Help manage behaviour and maintain a safe, positive learning space.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to support progress.

Requirements for SEN Primary Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN, either in a school or similar setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
