Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Hathersage (S32)
Pay Rate: £86 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to join schools in Hathersage (S32). This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference by providing one-to-one and group support for pupils with diverse learning needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Role Overview:
As an SEN TA, you will support pupils with special educational needs both inside and outside the classroom. You will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to adapt learning materials, encourage engagement, and help pupils build confidence and independence.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored one-to-one or small group support for pupils with SEN.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering differentiated lessons.
  • Support pupils with their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Help pupils build confidence, resilience, and independence.
  • Uphold high standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare.

Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN is desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt approaches to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Teamwork skills and willingness to collaborate with teachers and staff.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
