Job Title: SEN Primary Teaching Assistant (TA)

Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Primary Teaching Assistant to join schools in Rotherham. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact by supporting pupils with additional learning needs, helping them achieve their goals in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Role Overview:
As an SEN Primary TA, you will work alongside teachers to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs. You will help children engage with lessons, build confidence, and develop socially, emotionally, and academically.

As an SEN Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with SEN.
  • Adapt learning activities to suit individual needs and abilities.
  • Assist with classroom management and lesson delivery.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote inclusion.
  • Support pupils with personal development, social skills, and independence.
  • Uphold high standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare.

Requirements for SEN Primary Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or childcare setting is highly desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to supporting pupils.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning environments and pupil needs.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
