GSL Education are looking for a caring and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Loughton. This is a full-time position, starting in September, supporting a child with additional needs on a one-to-one basis.

The Role

  • Provide personalised support to a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access the curriculum and develop independence.

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning plans.

  • Support with social and emotional development as well as academic progress.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and provide a safe, nurturing environment.

  • Collaborate with parents and professionals to ensure consistent support.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN (e.g. Autism, ADHD, or other additional needs) either in a school, care, or youth setting.

  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.

  • A genuine passion for making a difference in a child’s education and wellbeing.
