Teaching Assistant
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Salary: £85 - £110 per day
Start Date: ASAP
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join an Alternative Provision in York, North Yorkshire, starting as soon as possible. We are currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with educational experience who will be working on 1:1 and small group basis with students.

Teaching Assistants Responsibilities:
- Work with students including those with special educational needs.
- Work with the class teachers to support delivery lessons and manage classroom behaviour.
- Support children with challenging behaviour, learning difficulties or emotional and behavioural difficulties.
- Responsibilities will also include helping prepare learning materials, run classroom activities, with plenty of hands-on experience and supervision.
- Promoting a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment.
- Provide additional support to the teacher in the classroom.
Teaching Assistants Requirements:
- Must hold the Right to Work in the UK.
- Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational, SEN, or PRU environment.
- Training in behavior management and de-escalation techniques is desirable.
- Should have good knowledge about different additional needs and working with students with SEN on a 1:1 basis.
- Have excellent teamwork, classroom and communication skills.
- Hold a Child only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
