Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher

Salary: M1 to UPS3 per annum (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are seeking dedicated DT Teachers to inspire and engage students in schools across Hull.

As a Design and Technology Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons across key stages, encouraging students to develop practical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. You will foster a supportive learning environment, ensuring pupils are motivated and challenged to reach their full potential.

Design and Technology (DT) Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality DT lessons across the curriculum.
  • Inspire and motivate students to explore creativity and innovation in design.
  • Ensure safe use of tools, equipment, and resources in workshops.
  • Differentiate lessons to support all learners, including high achievers and those needing extra support.
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress.
  • Contribute to departmental planning, resources, and curriculum development.
  • Support extracurricular activities, clubs, and projects to enrich the student experience.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Specialism in Design and Technology (Resistant Materials, Graphics, Product Design, or Textiles welcomed).
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to plan creative and engaging lessons that challenge and support learners.
  • Passion for developing students’ practical and theoretical understanding of DT.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
