Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant (TA)

Pay Rate: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Rotherham. As a Primary TA, this is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in helping children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally in a nurturing learning environment.

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and learning activities.
  • Assisting children with literacy, numeracy, and other areas of the curriculum.
  • Providing 1:1 or small group support to pupils who require additional help.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and active participation in lessons.
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Promoting safeguarding, child protection, and high standards of welfare.

Requirements for the role of Primary Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting is desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of young pupils.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude to supporting children’s needs.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years with explanations for any gaps.
