SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Harrow
Salary: £88 – £110 per day (depending on experience & qualifications)
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term
Supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs is a highly rewarding role, and we are offering an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated special school in Harrow as a SEMH Teaching Assistant. This full-time position will allow you to make a lasting difference in the lives of students who need extra support, guidance, and encouragement.
✨ What You’ll Do:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to SEMH students.
- Assist teachers in creating engaging, inclusive learning experiences.
- Encourage social and emotional growth, acting as a positive role model.
- Implement behaviour strategies to support pupils’ progress.
- Contribute to a safe and nurturing school environment.
✅ What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working with SEMH or challenging behaviour is desirable.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting young learners.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
