SEMH Teaching Assistant

Location: Harrow
Salary: £88 – £110 per day (depending on experience & qualifications)
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term

Supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs is a highly rewarding role, and we are offering an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated special school in Harrow as a SEMH Teaching Assistant. This full-time position will allow you to make a lasting difference in the lives of students who need extra support, guidance, and encouragement.

What Youll Do:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to SEMH students.
  • Assist teachers in creating engaging, inclusive learning experiences.
  •  Encourage social and emotional growth, acting as a positive role model.
  •  Implement behaviour strategies to support pupils’ progress.
  •  Contribute to a safe and nurturing school environment.

What Were Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with SEMH or challenging behaviour is desirable.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting young learners.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
