Class Teacher
Location: Canterbury, Kent
Salary: £120 - £250 per day (depending on experience)
Start date: October 2025
Contract: Fixed Term, Full-time/Part-time (Maternity Cover)

Do you have experience in Upper Key Stage 2 and a passion for guiding Year 5/6 pupils through their final primary years?

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Class Teacher to cover a maternity leave at a charming and successful church school located in Canterbury. The selected Class Teacher will be responsible for a mixed Year 4/5 class, with both full-time and part-time applications considered for this fixed-term role.

As a Class Teacher, you will be expected to:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver outstanding lessons to a mixed Year 4/5 class in line with the national curriculum.
- Create a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes high standards of behaviour and achievement.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of pupils.
- Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners within the class.
- Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, and the wider school community.
In order to be considered for this Class Teacher role, the candidate must:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Have experience teaching within Key Stage 2 (experience in Year 4, 5, or 6 is highly desirable).
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Be a proactive and reflective practitioner with excellent communication skills.
