Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Chichester
Salary: £85 – £95 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term

GSL Education are seeking a proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join inclusive and nurturing schools in Chichester, where you will play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and thrive both academically and emotionally.

In this rewarding role, you will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of needs, ensuring they feel safe, understood, and empowered in their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN.
  • Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, communication, and social interaction.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote engagement.
  • Collaborate with staff and parents to monitor progress and share feedback.
  • Contribute to school life, including extracurricular activities and events.

SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
  • CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance, or equivalent qualification (desirable).
  • A degree in Psychology, SEN or a similar field.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting learners.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and work flexibly.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
