Before recruitment, I was working in construction. Most of the men in my family were qualified contractors. After a period of time, I realised I wanted to work in an office rather than outside in the elements!

My great aunty was a headmistress of a school for over 20 years. When I mentioned to her, I wanted to get into sales, she joked I should get into education recruitment due to the teacher shortage. Once I got into the sector, she quickly told me honesty and transparency will get you a long way.  GSL is a company that also believe in these values and so I am delighted to be part of the team.

Six years ago, I completed an apprenticeship in Recruitment. I thoroughly enjoy helping people finding their next role and developing new and existing working relationships with schools. During this time, I have built some fantastic senior contacts within schools. This has given me a real insight to the education sector. My biggest attribute is my dedication and duty of care to both teachers/support staff and schools. I always endeavour to check in with people once they are in their new role. I like to engage with people and one of the most important things for me is making sure people are pleased with their new role.

Outside of work, I love to travel both home and abroad to historical places. You’ll always find a tab open on my phone with a Wikipedia page for a piece of History I am looking up!

Whether it be your first or next role in education, I would love to hear from you and so would the schools I work with!
