GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pastoral Lead to join a school in Chapeltown, offering a competitive daily rate of £95 - £120, depending on experience.

Role Overview:

As a Pastoral Lead, you will play a vital role in supporting students’ personal development, wellbeing, and behaviour. You’ll work closely with staff, students, and families to create a nurturing and inclusive school environment.

Key Responsibilities of a Pastoral Lead:

  • Provide emotional and behavioural support to students across all year groups.
  • Monitor and promote positive behaviour and attendance.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, acting as a trusted point of contact.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student welfare.
  • Support the implementation of behaviour and safeguarding policies.
  • Contribute to a safe, respectful, and inclusive school culture.

Job Requirements for Pastoral Lead:

  • Experience working with children or young people in a pastoral or support role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
  • Ability to remain calm, empathetic, and solution-focused under pressure.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, or counselling are desirable.
  • A current CV covering the last ten years (with no unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
