Salary: £160 - £250 per day (Depending on experience)
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

About the Role:

As a SEMH Teacher, you’ll play a vital role in delivering personalised and therapeutic educational experiences. You’ll work closely with a team of professionals to support students with SEMH needs, helping them build confidence, resilience, and academic success in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities of SEMH Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes emotional well-being.
  • Develop and implement Individual Behaviour and Education Plans (IBEPs), tracking progress and adapting strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with SENCOs, teaching assistants, parents, and external agencies to provide holistic support.
  • Promote positive behaviour strategies and restorative practices.
  • Encourage student participation, independence, and a love for learning.

Requirements of SEMH Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs is essential.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, empathetic approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding.
  • Additional training in de-escalation or trauma-informed practices (desirable but not essential).
