Salary Range: £160 - £250 per day (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to work in a specialist setting in Castleford. The Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher role calls for someone who can tailor their teaching approaches to effectively support students with a wide range of SEND, including autism, moderate and severe learning difficulties, and complex needs.

As a SEN Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and delivering personalised lessons that meet diverse learning needs.
  • Establishing a secure, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborating with support staff, therapists, and the SENCO to ensure cohesive support.
  • Tracking student progress and applying effective strategies to aid development.
  • Promoting positive behaviour through therapeutic and consistent approaches.
  • Communicating with parents and external agencies to help achieve EHCP targets.

Skills & Requirements for SEN Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Proven experience working with SEN students, ideally in a specialist setting.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A CV covering the last 10 years with any gaps clearly explained.
