Teacher of Technology
Location: Bridlington, East Riding of Yorkshire
Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026 or sooner
Salary: £168.80 – £261.79 per day

GSL Education are currently hiring a skilled and passionate Teacher of Technology to work in secondary schools across Bridlington and the surrounding areas. Whether you are looking for short-term supply, long-term placements, or part-time opportunities we can support you in finding a position that aligns with your experience and career goals.
As a Teacher of Technology, you will deliver engaging and practical lessons that encourage students to explore design, innovation, and practical application. You will help learners develop creativity, technical understanding, and confidence in using a range of tools, materials, and processes.
Core Responsibilities as a Teacher of Technology:
- Plan and deliver engaging Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Teach a range of areas including design principles, resistant materials, product development, and practical workshop skills.
- Promote creativity, innovation, and problem-solving through hands-on learning.
- Ensure safe use of tools, equipment, and workshop environments in line with health and safety guidelines.
- Support students in developing practical skills, confidence, and independent thinking.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities, including those with additional educational needs.
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement.
- Contribute to curriculum planning and enrichment activities where required.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed practical learning environment.
Teacher of Technology Minimum Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Technology or Design & Technology in a secondary school setting.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Good knowledge of workshop safety and practical teaching methods.
- Ability to inspire and engage students through creative and practical lessons.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
