Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs?
A lovely and highly regarded primary school in Colchester is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team from September on a full-time, long-term basis. This rewarding role will involve providing dedicated support to a child with SEN, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a pupil who requires additional support throughout the school day. You will play a vital role in helping them engage with learning, develop positive relationships, and make progress both academically and socially.
Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO, you will provide tailored support that enables the child to feel confident, supported, and successful in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
- Providing dedicated support for a child with SEN within the classroom
- Supporting learning activities and adapting tasks where appropriate
- Encouraging confidence, independence, and positive engagement
- Supporting social, emotional, and academic development
- Assisting with classroom routines and transitions
- Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school staff
- Promoting a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN is essential
- Experience working within a primary school or educational setting
- A patient, caring, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with children
- A proactive, reliable, and adaptable attitude
- A genuine passion for helping children succeed
