Job Title: Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Barnsley (S70 & S71)
Pay Rate: £95 – £110 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time
Are you a patient, enthusiastic, and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking to support pupils’ learning and development in the S70 & S71 areas of Barnsley, Sheffield?
GSL Education are seeking committed Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Barnsley (S70 & S71). This rewarding role provides the opportunity to make a positive impact on pupils’ academic progress, confidence, and engagement.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils in classroom activities and learning tasks.
- Assist teaching staff in delivering lessons and monitoring pupil progress.
- Work 1:1 or with small groups to provide tailored support.
- Encourage pupils’ independence, confidence, and engagement.
- Support pupils’ social and emotional development.
- Uphold safeguarding, behaviour, and school policies at all times.
Requirements for the role:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
