Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant – Supply
Location: Barnsley (S70 & S71)
Pay Rate: £95 – £110 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time
Are you a patient, dedicated, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant looking to support pupils with additional needs in the S70 & S71 areas of Barnsley?
GSL Education are seeking committed SEN Teaching Assistants – Supply to work in schools across Barnsley (S70 & S71). This role provides an opportunity to make a positive impact on pupils’ learning, confidence, and personal development.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs in the classroom.
- Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
- Work 1:1 or with small groups to provide tailored support.
- Encourage pupils’ independence, engagement, and confidence.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure the best outcomes for every child.
- Uphold safeguarding, behaviour, and school policies at all times.
Requirements for the role:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN is desirable.
- A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
