Job Title: History Teacher
Location: Sheffield (S2, S3)
Pay rate: Upto £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated History Teacher to work within welcoming schools across the Sheffield (S2 & S3). This role is ideal for someone who can make historical events and concepts engaging and relevant, while supporting pupils in developing critical thinking skills.
As a History Teacher, you will plan and deliver structured lessons, encourage discussion and analysis, and foster a classroom environment where students feel confident expressing their ideas. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the curriculum is delivered effectively and consistently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach history across Key Stages with well-planned and accessible lessons.
- Support students in developing analytical, research, and essay-writing skills.
- Provide constructive feedback to help pupils improve their understanding and performance.
- Use effective behaviour management strategies to create a focused learning environment.
- Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development.
- Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant teaching qualification.
- Strong subject knowledge and confidence delivering as a History Teacher.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to supporting students of varying abilities.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- A professional and proactive approach to safeguarding and school procedures.
